Enhanced Efficiency and Cost Savings with Artech’s Master Vendor Program
Enhancing Workforce Spend Visibility for a Leading
North American Engineering and Construction Company
Customer
The client operates within the engineering and construction sector in North America. It sought to gain comprehensive visibility and control over contingent workforce expenditures across various divisions and business units.
Problem
In the US and Canada, the Leadership at the client realized they did not have the big-picture visibility they wanted on contingent workforce spends. Divisions, business units, and project management engaged with suppliers independently for contingent staffing. They wanted overall visibility, control, quality benchmarks, and cost savings with their contingent staffing.
Action
Artech, their long-standing staffing partner, proposed a Master Vendor Program (MVP) model as best suited for their contingent staffing spend volume, types of project-based skillsets, and method of use.
As the Master Vendor, Artech, brought the ability to engage a preselected and verified member of the supplier community when needed for the client. This model was strategic in nature and identified and leveraged the unique geographical or talent pool skill sets advantages selected suppliers had for successful resource deployment. This made suppliers true partners who could focus all their efforts accordingly to support the MVP and streamlined processes for the users. The Master Vendor held the supplier staffing agreements directly and managed supplier compliance while searching for and vetting new suppliers, as needed.
The MVP’s established rate card controlled costs proved of great utility during the client’s project planning. Artech worked directly with the client teams to assist in project resource planning.
The MVP services are delivered via a Program Management Office (PMO) and facilitated through a VMS provided by Artech. The VMS allows for ease of use, program compliance, full visibility, and comprehensive metrics & reporting. The MVP includes payroll services provided solely by Artech, contingent worker placements provided by Artech or an approved supplier, and direct hire services.
Given Artech’s experience and expertise servicing the client for decades coupled with our deep understanding of their requirements, the MVP is their go-to partner for all talent support.
Results
Key business benefits of Artech’s solution have emerged: cost control/savings, enhanced resource fulfillment & supplier management, and contingent labor visibility. These benefits along with the ability to monitor, measure, and track the satisfaction of stakeholders, deliver significant value to the client. When combined with compliance and rate card adherence, it provides them with greater returns on their contingent labor spend, at a much lower transactional cost and much higher end-user satisfaction.
